I finally made it! Greetings from the Grand Canyon! What a site. This is truly a wonder of the world. Not only beautiful to look at, but it has a rich history as well. This steep-sided gorge has been carved over thousands of years by the Colorado River. It was dubbed the Grand Canyon in 1872 by John Wesley Powell and President Roosevelt visited it many times to hunt mountain lions. (Which I can't condone as a card carrying animal rights activist Gnome.)
The Grand Canyon is about 277 miles long and ranges from a quarter of a mile to 18 miles in width. It's also more than a mile deep. It's been a long journey from Illinois to this spectacular point of interest, but totally worth it.
I'm hitching to Lake Mead, catch ya later!
Love,
Clive the Gnome King
