I Just Got Lei'd in Hawaii!

Aloha!

We just hit the "gold coast" of the Big Island of Hawaii. We are currently in South Kohala. I haven't quite gotten my land legs yet, but my wobbliness comes in handy while doing the luau! South Kohala is the sunniest area of Hawaii, but don't be concerned, I bought sun tan lotion when I was at the hotel gift shop stocking up on Dramamine. I'm a very cautious gnome.

I don't know the plans yet. Being just a deck hand doesn't allow me any say in what we do or where we go. But I will let you know what my plans are really soon. If I don't like the agenda given to me, I may head off on my own. Mexico is calling my name. I want to be there by Easter and Spring break.

Ahoy Mateys!

This is a picture of me standing at the stern (that's the back of the boat for all of you landlubbers). It was taken by my bunkmate and pal Gil. I wanted you to see what we see 24/7, the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Nothing but blue as far as the eye can see. It's now day 10 of this journey and all I can say about being stuck on a 40' yacht is "It's a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live here." I'm beyond ready to get to Hawaii. The sooner the better for me. But I'm not the captain of this vessel, just a lowly deck hand so we'll just have to wait to see when we hit shore. Argh!

I'm needed on the starboard side now so I've got to sign off. As it is, I snuck this laptop when the owner wasn't looking...better get it back below deck before she wakes up.
